HELP - My Busy Bee

My Busy Bee - A screen full of Matches!
"My Busy Bee" is the heart of our system. He will present you with a page full of opportunities for swapping. Simply click on "My Busy Bee" at the top of any page.

How Busy Bee makes Matches
Unlike Searching and Browsing, "My Busy Bee" matches are more specific. Busy Bee only compares the following fields for matches: Genus, Species, & Common Name. If there are any matches between your listings and another person's listings, it will be displayed on the "My Busy Bee" page. If there are numerous results to display, it will split them into different pages. Simply click on the next "page" number at the bottom of the screen to advance to the next page.

3 Things to Click and Check
While viewing your Busy Bee matches, you can take advantage of 3 things to click on to help you decide if you'd like to Request or Accept a Swap.

1. Click on the small photo in order to see a larger version of it. When you are finished viewing the larger version of the photo, click your BACK button on your browser to return to your My Busy Bee list.
2. Clicking on "View Full Record" will give you additional information about that specific item.
3. Clicking on the person's Username will display their Profile. This may be the most important thing to check out. Feedback from other people who have entered into swaps with this user will be displayed on this page as well as the user's "Honeycomb Rating".

Requesting a Swap
If you find a match that you are interested in, simply click on the Red "Request Swap" button. This will enter this pair of items into an Active Swap and ask the other person if they are interested in the swap as well. The next time that they view their "My Busy Bee" web page, it will be listed at the top of their 1st page of listings. Likewise, Busy Bee will move your listing to the top of your 1st page with a new button.."Withdraw Offer". All other possible matches with your item and the other person's item will be temporarily listed as "Unavailable", and drop down further in the listings.

Withdrawing a Swap Offer
If by chance, you find another possibility for swapping after you have made a request, or the other person is taking too long to respond to your offer, you can simply click on the Orange "Withdraw Offer" button, and everything goes back to the state it was in before you made the offer.

Declining a Swap
If you receive an offer from another person it will show up at the top of your "My Busy Bee" listings as a pair of Orange Buttons labeled "Accept Swap" & "Decline Swap" respectively. If this offer does not particularly appeal to you, simply click on the Orange "Decline Swap" button. This will label this matched set as "Swap Declined" with a Black button and drop it to the bottom of the list. It will also re-activate these 2 separate items bringing them out of the "Unavailable" category, so that they can be swapped with other items. The "Swap Declined" black button will linger at the bottom of your list until one of the matched set items is deleted from it's "My Share List" or "My Wish List". Deleting an item from the "My Share List" or "My Wish List" removes it from the "My Busy Bee" list as well.

Accepting a Swap
If you receive an offer from another person it will show up at the top of your "My Busy Bee" listings as a pair of Orange Buttons labeled "Accept Swap" & "Decline Swap" respectively. If this offer appeals to you, simply click on the Orange "Accept Swap" button. This will label this matched set as Accepted by both parties by replacing the Orange buttons with a set of Yellow buttons..."Swapped!" and "Ship It!". It will also set all other possible matches with your item and the other person's item as "Swap Declined", and drop them all down to the bottom of the listings. This is because these 2 items are no longer available, so all other possible swaps are now void. These "Swap Declined" black buttons will linger at the bottom of your list until one of the matched set items is deleted from it's "My Share List" or "My Wish List". Deleting an item from the "My Share List" or "My Wish List" removes it from the "My Busy Bee" list as well.

Shipping your Shared Item
After you and your swap partner both agree to swap, you should carefully package and ship your item out to the other person as soon as possible. Their shipping address will be supplied to you when you click on the "Ship It!" button. You will also be supplied their email address in case you need to contact them for any reason.

Do NOT click on the "I Have Shipped This Item!" button until AFTER you have shipped out your package.

When packing your item, take the time to pack it well. This will ensure that you receive positive feedback and are "pollinated" by your swap partner. We suggest shipping plant items in sturdy boxes like the Priority Boxes available from the United States Postal Service (USPS) for free. We also suggest including "Delivery Confirmation" on your package.

Now that your package has been sent, go back and click on "I Have Shipped This Item!". One of two things will happen.. either it will say "One Shipped!" in a light green button, meaning that you are the only one that has shipped their package so far, or you will see 2 buttons in emerald green that say "Both Shipped!" and "Pollinate/Sting" respectively, meaning both of you have shipped your items to each other.

To Pollinate or Sting?
As soon as you receive your new item from your swap partner, unpack it and inspect it. Make sure it is what you agreed to swap for, and it is in good condition.

Pollinate
If everything is in order, click on the "Pollinate/Sting" button. On the next screen, optionally type a short comment up to 100 characters in length (Anything over 100 characters will be cut off!), and click on the "Pollinate Them" radio button. Finally, click on the Submit Button.

Sting
If you are COMPLETELY dissatisfied with what you have received, click on the "Pollinate/Sting" button. On the next screen, optionally type a short comment. (Warning: NO CURSING! Cursing will be removed and YOUR Honeycomb Rating will be Stung. Repeat offences may get your account terminated.) Click on the "Give Them the Stinger!" radio button. Finally, click on the Submit Button.

If you find cursing in your comments section of your profile, please send an email immediately, including your user name, to: support@myplantswap.com

After BOTH parties have given feedback, you may delete your Share and Wish items from your lists that were involved in this swap. If you do not delete these items from your Share and Wish lists, the matched pair will remain in your "My Busy Bee" list.

Honeycomb Ratings
Honeycomb Ratings is your gauge on feedback. Everyone has a rating. After every successful swap each person is eligible to receive either Positive or Negative feedback. (See above section) Each time you receive Pollination, you receive 1 point. Each time you are Stung, your feedback is deducted one point. Cursing offences will also deduct from your own Honeycomb Rating. Honeycombs are colored according to the colors of the rainbow and are as follows:

Points
Color
0 - 5 points White "New Bee" Honeycomb
6 - 10 points

Red Honeycomb

11 - 20 points Orange Honeycomb
21 - 40 points Yellow Honeycomb
41 - 80 points Green Honeycomb
81 - 160 points Blue Honeycomb
